When to come before the pain starts
Most problems begin quietly: a spot on the enamel, sensitivity to cold, blood on the brush. At that stage treatment is short and cheap. Later it is longer and more expensive.
A spot or a dark mark on a tooth
Early caries is treated with the ICON method, without drilling: the enamel is cleaned with a paste, the gel is applied and cured under a lamp. An hour and a half, 3 000 UAH.
It reacts to cold, sweet or hot
That is caries that has left the enamel. The sooner the filling is placed, the less tissue has to be removed.
Blood on the brush or bad breath
That is the gums, and it is a separate field. It starts with an extended periodontal examination: a periodontal chart, pocket depth, photoprotocol.
The tooth was treated and hurts again
Retreatment is done under the Calipso MD 500 microscope: it reveals the additional canals through which the problem kept returning.

Questions about treatment
Is root canal treatment painful?
The work is done under local anaesthesia, so it is not painful during the procedure. Some discomfort is possible for a few days afterwards while the tissue around the root settles.
Why a microscope, if canals are treated without one?
The microscope reveals additional and curved canals the eye cannot see. Those are exactly why treatment often has to be repeated a few years later.
How many visits does caries treatment take?
Usually one, from anaesthesia to a polished filling. Deep caries occasionally needs a second visit if a protective lining is required.
My gums bleed every time I brush - is that normal?
No. Healthy gums do not bleed. It is a reason for an extended examination, which shows pocket depth and the state of the bone.
